The annual Civic Service held on 1st July 2007
The Friends of St. John's held a very successful social evening in St. John's on 7th June 2007 when Lord Paddy Ashdown gave a very interesting talk about Bosnia where he spent 4 years as the International Community's High Representative.
St John’s and St Andrew’s churches are ‘Fairtrade’ churches and each display certificates to that effect. This means that we use Fairtrade tea and coffee for our refreshments and St John’s also uses sugar and some biscuits. We also hold a regular monthly Traidcraft stall and as part of Fairtrade fortnight we held an extra event promoting Fairtrade to the general public by holding a stall outside the church where we sold a variety of goods and spoke to passers by about the issues involved. The photo’s show this event.
