THE FRIENDS OF St. JOHNS

Our aim is to assist the Parochial Church Council of St John’s in maintaining the fabric of Yeovil’s important and beautiful Parish Church for the enjoyment of future generations. It has a uniquely interesting history which is inseparable from the history of the town itself and is both geographically and spiritually the centre of our community. Every week thousands of people walk through the churchyard and in the summer many shoppers and workers use the churchyard for relaxation and enjoy eating their lunch sat on the grass. It belongs to the people of Yeovil and we hope to encourage those who live and work in the town to help to preserve this priceless part of our heritage for future generations.
The Friend's was started in 1994 and since then has raised over £50,000 and over £40,000 has been spent on the church building. This includes work on the finials, window guards, repairs to the porch roof and the weather vane.
Will you join us by contributing a minimum of £5.00 per annum and by giving us any other help you have to offer? The Friends is a registered charity so you can increase the value of your subscription by completing a Gift Aid form.
The fabric of this beautiful church depends upon voluntary giving - we have no State aid.
